Traffic continues to improve at the Esky Land Mall Transportation Bureau meets with the owner to discuss traffic control measures
[Kaohsiung News] Esky Land Mall has been opened for more than three years. In response to the June 2 issue regarding the long waiting time for vehicles leaving the mall, the Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government, the Police Department, and the business owner held a meeting to review the situation today (3rd) and found that the problem was caused by the vehicles lined up to enter the mall blocking the vehicles leaving the mall, as well as by the poor traffic flow inside the parking lot. The Transportation Bureau and the business are willing to work together to resolve and improve on the issue.
The Transportation Bureau pointed out that there are many famous stores along the Longdexin Road, including Esky Land Mall and Costco; these stores are popular, attracting citizens to drive to these stores on holidays, which cause the traffic jams. In order to improve the traffic, Esky Land Mall also proposed various measures to ease the traffic after the meeting, promising to optimize the internal traffic flow of the parking lot, guiding the traffic when the parking lot is full, and sending more voluntary traffic wardens to reinforce the traffic at the intersections around the mall.
Traffic Bureau said that the signals around the shopping mall intersections have already adjusted to the peak-hour interval during the weekend. It also cooperates with district police and voluntary traffic wardens to keep the traffic flowing smoothly. After the investigation, it was found that the traffic jam into the shopping malls yesterday was because the parking lot was already full at 1:00 pm, resulting in the vehicles having to line up for a long time to enter and leave the mall.
The property owner has also promised to make improvements. During the holidays, Esky Land Mall will allocate more staff at the control points and adjust the parking gates flexibly to improve the efficiency of the traffic flow on the roads around the shopping malls and to improve the traffic flow at the parking entrances.
The Transport Bureau reminds that there are limited parking spaces around the mall. It urges the citizens to take the Light Rail to Sinshang Elementary School Station then walk for 5 minutes to get to the mall.
