A total of 345 car parking spaces and 573 motorcycle parking spaces have been cancelled along the segment between Meishuguan Road and Dashun Road (C21-C32) of the Kaohsiung Circular Light Rail (KLCR) Phase I Investigations showed that there are 45 public and private car parks (including 29 approved or built under the successful guidance of TBKC since 2016 according to the “Strategy for Improving Parking Supply Along KLCR” and 6 completed and started service in February 2021 according to the “School Parking Space Planning and Management Policy” planned and implemented by TBKC) within 200m radius from the segment supplying a total of 6,465 parking spaces for small vehicles. As about 2,000 parking spaces are still available during rush hours, there are sufficient parking for small vehicles. In addition, the cancelled motorcycle parking spaces can be compensated by building new spaces along the segment and on the intersecting roads.
In the future, TBKC will continue to increase parking supply (estimated with 2,994 parking spaces for small vehicles in total) along the segment through short-, medium- and long-term plans.
(1).Short-term plans (completed with immediate effect)
Planning and management of existing parking spaces in schools.
Centralized the operations and management of the parking spaces in six schools (Jhengsing Elementary School, Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Industrial High School (KIHS), Dingjin Junior High School, Sinsang Elementary School, Longhua Junior High School, and Longhua Elementary School), with 306 parking spaces started service in February 2021.
Guidance for private car parks
Successfully guided the construction of one new private car park (southeast to the junction of Dashun 1st Road and Zihyou 1st Road in Zuoying District) at the end of 2020, with a total of 656 parking spaces for small vehicles.
(2)Medium-term plan (constantly increase parking supply, with multistorey car parks completed in 2023)
Aozihdi Parking 35 BOT Project
A contract for the Aozihdi Parking 35 BOT Project (located at the junction of Nanping Road and Shennon Road in Gushan District) has been signed with private investors. The project that will start operations during 2023-2024 will provide 600 parking spaces for small vehicles, 1,100 parking spaces for motorcycles, and 400 parking spaces for bikes.
KIHS Multistorey Car Park Project
A multistorey car park integrating teaching space and light rail and MRT depot will be built in the south of KIHS (junction of Dashun Road and Dafeng Road). The project will provide 400 parking spaces for small vehicles and an appropriate number of motorcycles.
Construction of public car parks
Park-affiliated car park in the 99th redevelopment zone
A parking lot affiliated to the park will be built on the park land (junction of Dashun Road and Liansing Road in Sanmin District) in the 99th redevelopment zone. After completion at the end of 2022, the project will provide 115 parking spaces for small vehicles and 50 parking spaces for motorcycles.
Multistorey car park on Longdesin Road
TBKC will request for proposals for multistorey car park BOT projects. After completion, the project will provide 450 parking spaces for small vehicles and 300 parking spaces for motorcycles.

Park and ride car park in the Fubon Development Project
A park and ride car park for Kaohsiung Metro and KLCR will be built at the Kaohsiung Metro Aozihdi Station Commercial Area Superficies Development Project (Longhua Elementary School at the junction of Dashun Road and Boai Road) of Fubon Life. After completion, the project will provide 117 parking spaces for small vehicles and 188 parking spaces for motorcycles.
Wensiao 26 Joint Development Project
The Mass Rapid Transit Bureau promotes the construction of a multistorey car park in the KCLR C23 Co-construction Station Development Project on the transportation land (junction of Dashun Road and Yucheng Road) in the south of Wensiao 26. After completion, the project will provide about 208 parking spaces for small vehicles.
