Private Public Partnership for Friendly and Smart Parking Environment

  1. To provide quality parking service, TBKC progressively outsources parking fee collection to private enterprises and cuts personnel expenses and equipment maintenance expenses to effectively resolve problems including workforce ageing and collection system ageing, and severe deficits, hoping to improve the overall operational performance of parking services. To promote car park management outsourcing, TBKC prioritizes new or transformed car parks and car parks with expired collection systems or old equipment for outsourcing to private enterprises with sound management capacity. TBKC also installs the place identification, multi-payment, 24-hour call center, safety surveillance equipment, and EV charging equipment to create a smart and convenient parking environment. By the end of July 2021, the management of a total of 124 off-street car parks (16 multistorey car parks and 108 parking garages) was outsourced to private enterprises.

  2. A total of 510 parking spaces will be planned on four roads in areas around Chengcing Lake and Changgeng Road, including 415 on-street parking spaces on four roads: Gongyuan Road, Chengsiu Road, Changgeng Road and Dapi Road, and 95 park spaces in two off-street parking spaces in two off-street car parks in the west of Chengcing Lake and Guanhu. Smart parking equipment with automated parking fee ticket issuance will be installed by private enterprises and collection systems will be equipped for citizens to pay parking fees.

  3. By the end of July 2021, to earnings from the overall parking service was NT$248,783,217.
