To mitigate the traffic impact of roadworks, the Operation Guidelines of Traffic Maintenance Plans during Road Constructions in Kaohsiung City were established to standardize the procedures for reviewing, auditing, and supervising traffic maintenance plans. The Traffic Safety Supervision Meeting—Evaluation Task Force is responsible for conducting preliminary evaluations of proposals and providing recommendations to the Traffic Safety Supervision Meeting for further consideration.
Once contractors implement traffic maintenance facilities in accordance with the approved plans, the Evaluation Task Force, in coordination with relevant units, conducts onsite inspections and verifications. Additionally, it performs unscheduled supervisions and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
In 2021, the Evaluation Task Force reviewed 62 traffic maintenance plans and carried out 38 onsite audits of roadwork traffic maintenance facilities across the city. Contractors were required to address identified deficiencies to uphold road traffic safety.
