Kaohsiung TPASS Anniversary: Top 399 Carbon Reducing Participants Enjoy Great Prizes, Purchase Monthly Passes for a Chance to Win Round-Trip Tickets to Japan!
[Kaohsiung News] TPASS Monthly Pass is celebrating its one-year anniversary since launch! Aligning with the Kaohsiung City Government's commitment to advancing a net zero carbon emission policy, MeN Go members who've been onboard with TPASS monthly passes since its launch until April 26, 2024 stand to gain exciting rewards. The top 399 TPASS monthly pass users in terms of carbon reduction volume will receive a complimentary month of 399TPASS commuter monthly pass. Moreover, the first 200 new members referred by these top 399 members will be entitled to a NT$100 discount coupon for TPASS monthly pass before June 30, 2024. Additionally, during this promotional period, purchasers of TPASS monthly passes will have a chance to win exciting prizes, including round-trip tickets on EVA Air from Kaohsiung to Osaka, a year's supply of TPASS monthly passes or gift vouchers.
Director General Chang Shu-juan of the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau announced that the Kaohsiung TPASS Commuter Monthly Pass has reached its one-year anniversary since its launch on April 27, 2023. In March alone, sales exceeded 72,000 passes, with a total usage of over 31.91 million trips. In appreciation of the enthusiastic public response and to fulfill the commitment made when the TPASS monthly pass was launched in April last year, the MeNGo system will calculate carbon emissions reductions, with one month of free Kaohsiung 399TPASS monthly pass gifted as a reward to the top 399 TPASS monthly pass users in Kaohsiung, ranked by carbon reduction volume since the launch of the product. According to statistics, since the launch of the monthly pass, carbon emissions have been reduced by 24,000tCO2e, equivalent to the annual carbon reduction of two million trees.
According to the Transportation Bureau, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of TPASS monthly pass and to participate in the "TPASS Anniversary Ride Fare Giveaway Bonanza" event organized by the Highway Bureau of the MOTC, Kaohsiung City will launch a series of activities from now until June 30, 2024. During this period, new members recommended by the top 399 TPASS monthly pass users in Kaohsiung based on carbon reduction volume will be eligible for special rewards. Furthermore, using the TPASS monthly pass not only significantly reduces commuting costs and eliminates the hassle of traffic jams and parking search but also contributes to zero-carbon emissions, benefiting the planet in many ways, and members of the public are encouraged to make more use of it. The Transportation Bureau is also launching the "Surprise TPASS Goodies Monthly Lucky Draw" event. During the promotional period, individuals who purchase the "Kaohsiung City 399/Southern Kaohsiung-Pingtung 999 TPASS Monthly Pass Package" will stand the chance to win various prizes, including the grand prize worth NT$25,000, which includes one round-trip ticket from Kaohsiung to Osaka by EVA Air or one year of the Southern Kaohsiung-Pingtung 999 Commuter Monthly Pass. Additionally, to encourage more people to purchase TPASS and use public transportation, new MeNGo members who purchase monthly passes during the event period will have an extra chance to win!
