From January to July 2025, Kaohsiung’s YouBike 2.0 system activated an additional 57 rental stations, bringing the citywide total to 1,449 stations. A fleet of 13,106 public bicycles is currently in service, including 1,906 YouBike 2.0E electric-assisted bicycles. Ridership increased by 16 percent compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting strong public acceptance and usage.
By the end of 2026, the city plans to establish a total of 1,500 rental stations, providing a more convenient and denser public bicycle network. This expansion aims to encourage the use of public bicycles for transfers to mass transit, thereby substituting private modes of transportation and promoting sustainable urban mobility.
