From January to December 2025, Kaohsiung’s YouBike 2.0 system activated an additional 81 rental stations, bringing the citywide total to 1,473 stations. A total of 13,106 public bicycles were available for service, including 1,906 YouBike 2.0E electric-assisted bicycles. Ridership increased by 22% compared with 2024, reflecting the system’s widespread popularity among the public. In 2025, the system recorded 20.73 million trips, an increase of 21.8% from 2024. By the end of 2026, the city will continue expanding the system to a total of 1,550 rental stations, providing a more convenient and denser public bicycle service network. This expansion will encourage the public to use public bicycles to connect with mass transit services, thereby reducing reliance on private vehicles.
