The demand-responsive “Bus-Style Taxi” service not only supplements bus operations on certain routes or during specific time periods, but also extends deeper into the remote Cimei area. In Indigenous districts, the service is further integrated with E-Da Hospital through a fast-track arrangement, providing appointment-based transfer services for referral medical visits. As of July 2025, a total of 47 Bus-Style Taxi routes are in operation, serving 34 administrative districts, with cumulative ridership reaching 123,426 passenger trips from January to July 2025.
The “Happy Sharing Kaohsiung GO” program has been progressively implemented in the Cimei area since 2022. Current service coverage includes six districts—Meinong, Shanlin, Neimen, Liouguei, Jiasian, and Maolin—providing flexible, reservation-based transportation services to meet the needs of residents in remote areas for medical care, schooling, elderly care, and daily travel. To date, total ridership has exceeded 260,000 passenger trips, making the service an indispensable mode of transportation in residents’ daily lives. The program is scheduled to be further expanded to Taoyuan and Namasia districts by the end of 2025, thereby advancing the policy objective of achieving equitable transportation access across the mountainous areas of the Cimei region.
