The demand-responsive “Bus-Style Taxi” service not only fills gaps in bus route coverage and operating hours, but also extends deep into remote areas of the Cimei region. In Indigenous districts, the service is further integrated with E-Da Hospital through a fast-track arrangement, providing reservation-based shuttle services for patients referred for medical care. As of December 2025, the total number of Bus-Style Taxi routes had reached 48, serving 34 administrative districts, with ridership totaling 216,014 passenger trips from January to December 2025.
The “Happy Sharing Kaohsiung GO” service has been progressively introduced in remote communities of the Cimei region since 2022. Operating under a flexible, reservation-based ride-sharing model, it provides rural residents with transportation services for medical care, schooling, long-term care, and daily travel. Cumulative ridership has now exceeded 400,000 passenger trips, making the service an indispensable part of residents’ daily lives. Following its implementation in Meinong, Shanlin, Liou guei, Neimen, Jiasian, and Maolin districts, the service was further expanded to Tauyuan and Namasia districts in 2026, achieving the policy objective of transportation equity across the remote mountainous communities of the Cimei region.
