Within 30 days after receiving the adjudication report from the Traffic Accident Investigation Committee, a party involved may apply for reconsideration to the Traffic Accident Investigation Reconsideration Committee (address: 17F, No. 25, Jhongzheng 3rd Road, Sinsing District, Kaohsiung District) for one time only. For accidents investigated by a judicial (military) entity, the party involved shall apply for a referral to the Traffic Accident Investigation Reconsideration Committee to the judicial court or court martial.
When a party involved or a judicial court or the court martial files an application for reconsideration to the Traffic Accident Investigation Reconsideration Committee, the application will be registered on the same day and related files and records will be retrieved (1-2 weeks) before proceeding with the preliminary analysis and profiling of the accident (about 2 weeks) and then arranging for the committee review.
After a decision is made (about 2 weeks), a reply will be provided for the applicant or the judicial court or the court martial. If no decision is made, additional data of the accident will be collected, or the parties involved will be asked to give statements at the next committee meeting. (The entire process will take about 2-4 months.)
