To promote the use of mobile payment apps for on-street parking fee payments, the Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government launched a limited-time discount and prize draw campaign this year (2025), which received enthusiastic public participation. From April 1 to June 30, drivers who paid their parking fees within the payment deadline (within 14 days after the parking date) using one of 12 cooperating mobile payment apps enjoyed a 5% discount; new users were additionally eligible for a 50% discount. Each parking fee payment also earned one entry into the prize draw, making fee payment both economical and enjoyable.
The 12 cooperating mobile payment apps included LINE Pay (iPASS MONEY), O’Pay, JKOPay, Pi Wallet, Carmochi, Far EasTone HeartLife, Parking Lot App, Gama Pay, Easy Wallet, PXPay plus, uTagGo, and icash Pay.
The prize draw attracted approximately 2.3 million eligible parking fee payments, resulting in 94 lucky winners. The list of winners has been announced on the Transportation Bureau’s official website, the Public Parking Service Information website, and the “Turning Kaohsiung’s Youth Dream” Facebook fan page for easy public access.
Prizes were abundant, including iRobot vacuum cleaners, Electrolux air purifiers, Tefal blenders, Panasonic smart ovens, accommodation vouchers for Guolan Garden Villa, bath vouchers for Spring Hill Resort Hotel, dining vouchers for Eatogether, PX Mart gift certificates, Showtime Cinemas movie tickets, and TPASS Kaohsiung NT$399 commuter monthly passes.
The Transportation Bureau noted that nearly 30% of citizens paid their parking fees via mobile payment apps during the campaign, demonstrating that the convenience and discounts offered were highly valued by drivers. Moving forward, the Transportation Bureau will continue to introduce more promotional offers and prize activities, encouraging citizens to pay their parking fees through mobile payment apps—convenient, time-saving, and cost-effective.
