To improve pedestrian passage space, this Bureau used bright green pavement surface with “pedestrians only” words to set up marked sidewalks. These sidewalks clearly guide pedestrians and divide pedestrian and vehicle traffic. This not only effectively improves safety for pedestrians, but can also provide a better visual sidewalk reminder. Marked sidewalks can also help vehicle drivers identify the safe pedestrian passage and slow their speed accordingly to improve traffic safety. Eight marked sidewalks, including the ones for Shanlin District Shanlin Junior High School (Cingshuei Rd. Jhongsyue Lane), Lingya District Lingya 1st. Rd. (from Mincyuan 1st. Rd. to Yongding St.), were completed between August 2017 and January 2018.
