To improve pedestrians’ walking space, the Bureau used light green sidewalk markings and “Pedestrians Only” legend markings to separate sidewalks from driveways and clearly direct pedestrian movement. This not only effectively improved pedestrians’ safety, but also provided better visuall reminders of sidewalk signs, and improves traffic safety by making drivers reduce speed as they can easily identify safe walking space for pedestrians. The Division has finished 9 sidewalk markings including Minfong 8th St. in Cianjhen District (Minfong 7th St. to Minfong 5th St.) and Wanggong Rd. in Linyuan District (Linyuan N. Rd. to the side entrance of Linyuan Senior High School) from July 2018 to January 2019.
