Traffic Calming Zone
Traffic calming zones have been planned in areas frequented by pedestrians and school children in the vicinity of elementary and secondary schools to implement human-oriented transportation and solve neighborhood traffic issues such as roads shared by pedestrians and vehicles and illegal parking of cars and scooters. The goal is to link existing sidewalks and decrease car running speeds. Between January and August 2020, six traffic calming zones have been created in Wanai, Wansheng, Jhengsing, and Baojhong Boroughs in Sanmin District, Wunhua Borough in Fongshan District, and Minjhu Borough in Lingya District to build a safe traffic environment through “neighborhood passageways” for pedestrians and vehicles.
