The Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government strives to develop ships powered by green energy. Currently, the first electric ferry traveling between Cijin and Gushan has been built, and Ferry Happiness has been renovated with an electric propulsion system. The second electric ferry traveling between Cijin and Gushan is now under construction to make Port of Kaohsiung a green port.
