To provide more space for pedestrians, bright green pavements and “pedestrians-only” markings are applied to delineate sidewalks. By dividing the routes for pedestrians and for vehicles, it gives clear indication of traffic routes for pedestrians, which efficiently improves pedestrian safety. Moreover, the sidewalks with green pavements and “pedestrians-only” markings now provide visual warnings for drivers to slow down and help improve the traffic safety. From January 2017 to July 2017, four marked sidewalks were completed along roads including Lane 2, Fongnan Road in Fongshan District and Gushan 1st Road in Gushan District.
